Bouthillier brings 20 years of experience in the ingredient/food industry to this newly created position—most recently as US Director of Sales for the Montreal-based Saputo Inc.
“In this new position, Guy will focus on developing innovative opportunities in food applications where Main Street’s functional, cost-effective ingredients can benefit food and beverage manufacturers,” says Bill Schmitz, President. “Guy has a strong technical background and will take the lead in this strategic business direction. Throughout his career, Bouthillier has marketed similar functional ingredients in North America. In addition, he earned a certificate in Marketing from the University of Montreal and a degree in recreation leadership at Cégep de Rivière-du-Loup, Québec, Canada.

Rogich joined the company over three years ago with a leading role in the start-up of several new production lines at the La Crosse facility. In his new role, he will be responsible for the three-shift operation and all nine production lines, including blending, agglomeration, packaging and pouching.
Manufacturing volumes at Main Street have increased over 30 percent during the last year. “This has been a year of tremendous growth and transition for Main Street,” says Rudy Rott, Vice President of Operations. “Eric has proven his leadership skills as we’ve grown, and we are extremely pleased that he has accepted this position.”

La Crosse, WI – August 18, 2006 – Main Street Ingredients, LLC, a leading manufacturer and supplier of functional food ingredients headquartered in La Crosse, WI, has acquired Hilton House Foods, Inc. in Wichita, KS.
Hilton House Foods, owned by Plaza Belmont, LLC, in Kansas City, MO, manufactures specialty products primarily for the ice cream and bakery industries. Main Street Ingredients will continue to produce at the manufacturing plant in Wichita until it transitions production to its facility in La Crosse WI.
“Hilton House Foods has a good reputation in the food industry,” stated Dave Clark, chief executive officer of Main Street Ingredients. “This is a great investment in the strategic direction of our organization.

In this new role, Johnson will be responsible for selling Main Street’s bakery and dairy-based branded products in addition to contract blending and agglomeration. “I’m pleased to have Cole on board,” said Mike Homewood, Sales Manager of the new division. “He has an enthusiasm and work ethic that will be greatly appreciated as the company moves forward with our sales strategy.”
Cole joins the team with over seven years in retail sales. He received a degree in marketing from Western Technical Institute, La Crosse, WI, in 2005.

For the eighth consecutive year, Main Street Ingredients has earned AIB International’s “Superior” rating. Food processing facilities must receive a minimum score of 900 out of 1,000 possible points to achieve a “Superior” rating – Main Street scored 940.

The newly constructed R&D Center is located in part of a new 40,000 square foot addition to the manufacturing facility. “This investment in the R&D Center shows our commitment to innovation,” says Bill Schmitz, president. “From functional beverages to indulgent yet healthier ice creams, our technical team is dedicated to provide our customers with the latest nutrition research, current consumer trends, and new product development.”
In addition, Main Street Ingredients has invested in a pilot scale, state-of-the-art continuous ice cream freezer. This equipment has the technology to create innovative ‘churned-type’ ice cream products. As a result, Main Street will be able to design functional ingredient systems to maximize the benefits of this processing technique for frozen desserts and ice cream.
