Main Street Ingredients Promotes Mike Homewood to Director of Sales

LA CROSSE, WI — Main Street Ingredients, a leading manufacturer of food ingredients, is pleased to announce the promotion of Mike Homewood to Director of Sales.

For the past seven years, Homewood has been instrumental in growing the sales of functional and custom manufactured ingredients. “Mike has worked through many changes in his responsibilities over the years, and his leadership in both sales and production volume through the facility has contributed greatly to the success of the Company,” said Aaron Macha, Vice President of Sales.

With this change in leadership, Main Street is excited to move forward with a complete restructuring of the sales department. Homewood will lead the Ingredient Distribution Group and the Custom and Branded Ingredients group, which includes Main Street’s branded products: Keystone™ stabilizers, Cornerstone™ proteins, Capstone™ dairy, and Gemstone™ bakery ingredients. Ingredient Distribution consists of all products that Main Street distributes from other manufacturers. These two groups will work together as one, with the same goals but different product strategies, under Homewood’s leadership.

Sports Nutrition has been renamed to the Health and Nutrition Group and will continue to function under the leadership of Macha, who oversees the entire sales department.

Main Street Ingredients Receives Governor's Export Achievement Award

STATE OF WISCONSIN, DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, TRADE AND CONSUMER PROTECTION — Governor Doyle awarded four agricultural businesses the prestigious 2008 Governor’s Export Achievement Award and announced he will lead a trade mission to India in November. Both announcements were made at the annual Wisconsin International Trade Conference in Milwaukee on Tuesday.

Growth opportunities for Wisconsin high-value agricultural product exports to India include a large and growing consumer middle class; the growing number of fast food chains and luxury hotels; and a growing food processing industry looking for imported food ingredients. Ten of the 19 applicants for the Governor’s Export Achievement Award this year were from food and agricultural businesses, the most on record.

Main Street Ingredients is an award winner in the category of Small Agricultural Exporter. Main Street Ingredients produces ingredients for the ice cream, cheese, bakery, and confectionary industry, as well as private-label retail products for the healthy living and sports nutrition categories. They sell products in over 21 countries in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Export sales have increased from $4 million in 2004 to over $25 million in 2007. Export sales of commodity ingredients have also increased by 33 million pounds during the same time period.
